For several years now we have celebrated Mother's Day by participating in Mom's on the Run, an event supporting breast cancer. The Legarza family made the Reno Gazette Journal this year for our tradition. In the past, my brother or sister has joined us with their families as well. It is a wonderful way to celebrate mother's day, visit with friends and family and support a special cause, especially since we are soo very lucky that Dell has been able to beat breast cancer twice.
Unfortunately, on my side of the family, my grandmother found out she had a malignant pleural effusion (cancer cells in fluid filling up the lung). They don't know where the cancer originated yet, but she has had several melanomas removed. I pray that she does not have to suffer.
Despite my sadness, I wanted to end the day on a special note. I read "Pogonip Magic" to Caedon. This is a wonderful book that Aunt Tracy contributed to our library about the magic of Pogonip. We all need a reminder that magical things do happen sometimes.
Here are happy pictures from our day to end on a good note:

Oh Katie, so sorry to hear about Granny. We will keep her in our prayers too.
ReplyDeleteBut on the other hand, Dell looks great! So happy you were able to participate again and that it was for such a positive experience. Thanks to tough gals like Dell and great Doctors like you and walkers like your family, we can make a difference (I hope).
