Happy Father's Day!

All I have to say is that Maddy enjoyed the cupcakes we had for dessert to celebrate Father's Day.

Happy Birthday Caedon!

Caedon turned six today. The Last-Minute-Legarzas (no offense to the other family members that share our last name) arranged a last minute pizza party. As I was putting CJ to bed tonight, I told him that he was very loved because everyone wanted to come to his family party. He had a wonderful day with basketball in the morning, playing with a friend in the afternoon and the pizza party at night. He was disappointed that the day was not longer so he could play with all the wonderful presents he received- Thanks Everyone!!!

Toys and Vegetables

Caedon sometimes has a difficult time eating vegetables, he also has a hard time controlling his desire for new toys every time we go to the store. Last night, when I took Maddy and Caedon to the store to find dinner, I let Caedon pick out the vegetable. He picked broccoli, so we had chicken and broccoli for dinner. Both Caedon and Maddy ate great dinners. It was a simple meal, healthy and they both enjoyed it..score! I have also started giving Caedon jobs to do around the house. I decided I would pay him 25 cents per job as his allowance. Some may criticize by saying that family members should do chores without getting paid, but let's face it, we all like rewards. Caedon has responded to this plan really well. When we went to the store I let him bring some money with him.  I told him if he wanted to buy something he would have to pay for it. It was a really good lesson on how expensive some toys are at the market. I also explained that if he saved his money instead of waisting it all on small things, that he could eventually buy something big. Now he asks me for jobs to do. Eventually, I hope this system will create habits for the future. I realize that I will eventually have to pay him more as his jobs get harder. It's not all work and no play. Caedon started basketball camp yesterday and loved it. He wanted to wear the Gator jersey that Cousin Clint and Aunt Kay gave him. Maddy is keeping herself busy driving her pink car.

Kindergarten Graduation

Caedon graduated from kindergarten today! We are so proud of him. His class put on a great performance. Maddy was angel while sitting on Alan's lap, but when he had to go back to class she had a little trouble sitting still. My favorite picture is of Caedon with his fabulous teacher Mrs. Farfsing. Caedon said he wanted to go to summer school so that he could hang out with Mrs. Farfsing some more.
