Another Day of Snow

Maddy wore her new poka-dot dress today and posed for a picture while she was putting on her shoes. Soon she wanted to go out in the snow, but her dress fit nicely under her snowsuit. We had to shovel the driveway several times today and everyone wanted to help. I wish that children kept their enthusiasm for helping out as they aged.
Do you see the snow bunny we made waving at you??

February Snow

I took vacation this week in hopes that I could ski, but the wind has been so bad that the lifts were closed. Maddy and I are enjoying our girl time together, and we even convinced Aunt Tracy to join us for lunch yesterday. Maddy spends alot of time on the phone pretending to talk to Nana, who is visiting her family on the East Coast. Cousin Alan spent the night last night because Martin and Stacy had a baseball meeting. After a windy night, we were awoken by the school district letting us know that school would start late today because it finally snowed! What happened to the good old days when school was canceled?? Maddy, Caedon and Yater all enjoy having Alan around and playing in the snow.

Super Bowl Sunday

The thing that made this day so special was not the Super Bowl. It was the fact that my friend Ali popped in for a special visit. She brought some bracelets for Maddy which she wore all day. I did not take any pictures of us watching the Super Bowl. I do have pictures for last Sunday taken on my phone. We often have a dance party at our house before bath time with Martin as the DJ.  Well, I had no idea that up the street at Stacy's house another dance party occured until last Sunday. Lauren and Lindsey's boyfriends are apparently dance champions on the Wii. Alan held his own against RJ. I wish the pictures turned out better. I also have one taken earlier that night with Nana and the kids playing the piano.

What have we been doing?

Martin and Caedon have been skiing. Martin needs to submit some photos to the blog of them skiing!
Maddy and I have been spending quality time together.
We play princess alot.

Jenna had her third birthday two weekends ago at Pump it Up. Kim drove up with her family. Maddy had a great time driving the little car.

My mom signed Maddy and her cousins, Kaitlyn and Jenna, up for a series of art class at the Nevada Museum of Art. She was out of town this past weekend so Amy and I took the girls. They had a great time playing with the clay and paints.
Usually when Caedon gets home from skiing we try to take Yater for a walk. Once it gets dark we go inside and color in the kitchen, while we make dinner.

Winter Hike

Today was a sunny winter day and we decided to go for a hike to Cross Peak. Caedon hiked up with minimal complaints, so we were very proud of him.  Maddy rode in the backpack. Caedon does not have a mustache, he just needs to drink more water to improve his chapped lips.

Ski Days

Caedon and Martin ski every weekend and holiday, including the recent Martin Luther King holiday. Caedon loves it.  He only complains when skiing interferes with a sleepover at his cousin's house, otherwise he wants to be out on the slopes. Martin captured Caedon on his phone.

Maddy and I have been busy at home. We both enjoy our walks around the block with Yater aka Yea Yea. Maddy has been keeping herself busy with her two babies and all her bags, including her
alligator purse.

Caedon and his Fan Club

Caedon received a guitar from my mom for Christmas. Here he is live for his very first performance with Maddy enjoying the jam session.

Today Caedon had his first ski race on the Squaw Valley race team. Here is a picture of him carving a turn around the gate.

Skies on the Eves

Both Christmas Eve and New Years Eve we skied. Caedon is on the Squaw Valley race training team so unfortunately he is not skiing in any of the photos. His skiing has really improved and he is enjoying the team. On Christmas Eve Stacy, Tracy, Lindsey, Lauren and Alan joined us. They all helped take care of Maddy so that she could come too. On New Years Eve Maddy spent the day with Gandma. Martin took me back-country skiing for the first time, while Caedon was at practice. It was an adventure for me putting skins on the skies, pushing my way of the slope and crossing a creek. You would have thought that was the hardest part, but when it came time to ski back down I freaked myself out. I was afraid of hitting a tree. Of coarse Martin navigated through the powder with his typical wide graceful turns. Oh well..I am proud of myself for getting out there a doing it in the first place.

Christmas Eve
New Years Eve- (it was -2 degrees but sunny and clear)
