Knott Creek

August 6th-9th we spent up at Knott Creek. This is a traditional camping and fishing spot for the Legarza family. In the past I have been unable to experience the trip due to work, but this year special arrangements were made for me so that I could come. Here are some of the highlights of the trip. The first few photos are poor quality because I emailed them from my iPhone, but they capture the journey into Knott Creek.

This is a very straight "scenic" road in Nevada:
After falling asleep on the above road, we woke up on this bumpy road:
This is what Maddy thought about the steep, bumpy dirt road:

Finally after many hours of Nevada roads we made it to Knott Creek! Papa took us out on his boat to enjoy the Reservoir:

We pulled the boat over and took a little hike to look for reeds to put our marshmallows on for S'mores.

We set up camp and proudly displayed our Basque flag and our Giants flag.

The wind blew in a hail storm!

Maddy and Aunt Tracy took a solar heated shower.

Caedon, Papa and Alan played a potato tossing game.

We all watched a beautiful sunset before starting the campfire and cooking S'mores.

The next day Papa cooked us all breakfast on his mobile kitchen trailer which I think is really cool!

We played a lot of cards!

The boys went fishing (Aunt Trace went in her own pontoon boat with the boys). When they got back we took a trip to the creek. Alan and Caedon rode on the tailgate.

I was soo dirty I wanted to clean my legs and feet in the creek. Maddy much preferred the warm shower she had with Aunt  Trace the day before. She thought the creek was too cold! It was freezing.

Alan and Caedon tried to sneak in more fishing in the creek.
When we got back, Maddy had a huge tantrum, but Aunt Trace calmed her down with some music.
Maddy feeling much better with her raisin snack:

More cards:

Martin watching the BBQ for our steaks:
The next day we packed up and left. We stopped to get some last pictures of scenic Knott Creek.
