Dell's 70th Birthday

Stacy hosted a very special party for Dell. You may notice that Maddy glued herself to Dell. Judging by the pictures you would think it was Maddy's Birthday as well. Luckly, Nana graciously shared the lime light with Madeline Grace. Lindsey made a fun game with prizes representing her Nana. Caedon and Maddy open their Easter presents before Dell had a chance to open her presents. RJ (Lindsey's boyfirend) said, "the only other person that gives gifts on their birthday is Jesus." At the end of the night Lauren played the piano..Mike and Maddy joined in for the grand finale.
Happy Birthday

Happy Easter

What an action packed weekend and we still have not finished with the festivities. Dell's Birthday Celebration is tonight but it will have it's own entry. My sister came to town with 3kids, a dog and 12 ducks! The cousins had so much fun playing together on Friday night. Saturday, we were all disappointed when Caedon's game was cancelled due to the rain, but we colored Easter Eggs and had our friends Ali, Tripp, Abbie and Daisy over for dinner. Easter morning was a egg hunting extravaganza in our backyard. Caedon's basket overflowed so we had to unload the basket into a bigger bag. Then it was off to Grandma's to have fun with the cousins. Each cousin got an egg with money in it and then we had an indoor Easter egg hunt. Even the some of the ducks found their way into the photographs. In the end, we took a family photo. My mom's old couch now sinks a little in the back after 7 grand kids using it as a trampoline. We felt like we were on a roller coaster, thus the goofy family photo.

(psst! That is Lindsey in the background not me)

Madeline's First Day on Skis and Caedon's Award

These are pictures of Madeline's first day on the slopes and Caedon's last day of MIGHTY MIGHTS for the season. Madeline had soo much fun. She was a little overwhelmed on the chairlift but she loved snow.  Caedon received great compliments from his coach. The coach said that he was torn between most enthusiastic and best jumper, but Caedon ended up with the award for best jumper. We are so proud of him!

Caedon and his team made the newspaper! They were all lined up with their belts cinched tightly around there little waists holding their hats for the national anthem. Caedon is in the center of the line up.

Opening Day - Little League

Baseball season has officially started and so starts the chaos of Spring. Today was opening day and the ceremonies started early. Miss Maddy, who is accustomed to her beauty sleep and slow morning routine, had a hard time getting out the door by 9am, so we (Maddy and I) were late for the parade of teams. Caedon's game did not start until later. We had plenty of time to enjoy a breakfast bagel with Cousin Lauren. We cheered Caedon on as he hit the ball from the pitching machine and rounded the bases. Here are some highlights from the day.

Three Little Pig Opera

Today Caedon's music class at school preformed "Three Little Pig Opera." Martin captured a small portion of it on video. Maddy missed her nap to attend. She actually did really well. She loved the music and sat still. She also shhhushed anyone who dared to make a comment. Everyone around us was giggling at her little finger pressed to her lips saying "sssssshhhh".

More Snow!

It just keeps on snowing. I can't say I am disappointed. The absence of yard work is a luxury I am appreciating right now. Last week brought a terrible respiratory illness my way with fever, chills and body aches like I have never experienced. I was bed ridden for a few days, but I have returned having great empathy for chronically ill people and thankful for my usual good health. The kids have been taking it easy also. We bought Maddy a blow-up bed for our next trip in May. It will be a year since our last trip and at that time she could easily fit in a pack-in-play. This time we decided she would be more comfortable in a blow- up bed. I used the little pump included in the package to try it out and Caedon added some finishing touches with pillows and his quilt. They look so snugly...

I am actually quite impressed. I did not expect it to be as roomy or as easy to deflate and pack back in it's little bag. Caedon wanted us to buy one for him, but his feet barely fit inside the little rim of the bed. He will have to settle for the big bed at the hotel. We will see if Maddy is as enthusiastic about her bed without her brother in it.

Anticipating Spring

The snow has melted in our yard and everybody is ready of Spring. Maddy wanted to go outside and try riding her bike with her flip-flops and new helmet. Caedon is still just as enthusiastic about skiing, but he had no problem leaving early to make it to baseball practice.

Old pictures

Sorry about the last entry. I tried to put a picture on directly from my phone. My modern technology skills need some work. I better stick with the photos on the computer. Hopefully todays photos will put a smile on your face. Here is one of Caedon when he was Maddy's age with his cousin Alan.

Here is a sweet picture of Yater as a puppy. Is that the cutest puppy face you have seen?

Here is a picture of Maddy being goofy in her "Tiaras make you taller" shirt...

Martin loves to take the kids to coffee, it is like a play date for stay at home dads.

Yate used to climb in the dishwasher, he is too big now.
