First Day of School ( and my Birthday )

Well it was an eventful start to the school year. Maddy woke up with the stomach flu, so it added to the chaos of the morning. We made it to Alan's house in time, because Caedon could not miss walking to school with his cool cousin on the first day! Caedon's new teacher, Ms Finnell, seems very nice. Caedon came home tired after his first full day of school, but he was excited to have his own desk this year. Martin and I were tired after cleaning up poor Maddy several times and deconstructing a car seat to wash it. Oh ya and it was my birthday..good thing I celebrated with Lauren yesterday.

Happy Birthday Lauren!

Lauren actually turned 19 on August 26th. She and I decided to have a joint birthday tonight because after the long series of birthdays people are tired of hosting birthdays. Dell hosted a wonderful party for us. Sadly, I have no photos of the event. My family left for Alaska today, but they were very nice to come over yesterday to deliver their presents and wish me a Happy Birthday.

Ok, so the last one is not the most glamorous shot of Maddy but it cracks me up. She spilled on her dress so I took it off. That did not slow her down on her beverage consumption!

Happy Late Sweet 16th Birthday Lindsey!

Maddy had a great time helping Lindsey open her presents. She tried on all of Lindsey's new clothes/pajamas. We all enjoyed the candy from the pinata.

Fun week with the Thompson Family

My good friend Ali came to visit with Abbie, Daisy and Tripp. One day we went to Lake Tahoe and another day we played minature golf. I was a little worried that Maddy might turn her club into a weapon, but she kept her club to herself. Her favorite part was the ice cream castle. Here are some cute pictures from the week.

Amagoya (a relative from Spain) came to visit with her family and Martin's dad hosted a big party for her. Everyone brought pictures of the common Basque ancestors and passed them around. It was fun to celebrate with all the family.
